Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

The AutoCAD software suite includes AutoCAD software for the Windows operating system (Windows/Mac), macOS (Mac), and other operating systems. AutoCAD software provides powerful drafting, design and visualization capabilities for the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.

AutoCAD also has a Business Productivity Online Services (BPOS) edition available for organizations which need to work on office and collaborative documents and spreadsheets using the Internet or a secure intranet.

History [ edit ]

There were three early predecessors to AutoCAD: AutoCAD I and AutoCAD II (1982–1996), both for the Apple II personal computer, and X-CAD, a desktop app for the Xerox 9700 personal computer.

AutoCAD 1.0 was released for the Apple II in January 1983 and was the first computer-aided drafting application to be released on any type of personal computer platform. It was developed and designed by Ray Anderson of AARD Electronics and released on January 31, 1983 by Paul Obermiller and Bill Roberts.

The first product launch for the AutoCAD name was of AutoCAD II in May 1983 for the Apple II. Ray Anderson and Paul Obermiller developed AutoCAD II with an emphasis on improved speed and accuracy. The development of AutoCAD II took a longer period of time and was a much more complex project than AutoCAD I.

The third and last AutoCAD product before the introduction of AutoCAD R16 was the Personal Edition in February 1987, which included all of the features of the professional applications.

In September 1987, Autodesk acquired AARD Electronics and the AutoCAD product name. AutoCAD R1 was the first version of AutoCAD that ran on Microsoft’s Windows platform, based on the Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS) in August 1991. Microsoft released the first version of DOS in 1980.

With AutoCAD, AARD Electronics was seeking to provide a solution to a problem in the drafting industry: the need to move quickly between drafting and the computer, which up to that point had been a time consuming task for drafters. As a desktop app, AutoCAD would allow drafters to move more quickly between drawing on paper and editing on a computer screen, a crucial development given the imminent ubiquity of personal computers in the construction industry.

AutoCAD R4 was the

Autodesk introduced the Open Source version of AutoCAD, the SourceForge project code named Open AutoCAD. It is a free desktop CAD application based on GIS 3D cad software. The user interface looks similar to AutoCAD and the same commands are supported. The open source project is not being actively developed.

Autodesk released AutoCAD R13. The $20 cost makes it a viable alternative to AutoCAD LT and Freehand LT.

The Autodesk product line was created in the mid-1970s by Allan Katz who left to form Perceptron Systems in 1968. The product line initially consisted of proprietary products including DraftSight and HyperCAD, among others.

The first CAD package released under the Autodesk name was AutoCAD R1, available in 1981. The first version to use the AutoCAD brand name was AutoCAD R2, released in 1983.

Over the years, Autodesk has released other CAD packages that fall under the Autodesk brand, such as Inventor (1989), 3ds Max (1999), 3ds Max Design (2004), and AutoCAD Architect (2005).

In 2004, Autodesk acquired the Engineering Group from Philips. In 2005, the Engineering Group was renamed as Dassault Systèmes and Autodesk released AutoCAD Architect. It was the first version of AutoCAD with a graphical user interface and a Windows client.
In 2006, Autodesk released AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil and building design. It was the first version of AutoCAD that sold for $80/month on a subscription basis. The following year, Autodesk acquired KATCAD and released the KATCAD Software Suite which included other CAD programs, such as KATCAD and Engineering Project Professional.
In 2007, Autodesk acquired Geomagic, Inc. and released AutoCAD Inventor. Inventor was intended to be used for industry as well as architectural and engineering design. The price of AutoCAD Inventor increased to $300.
In 2008, Autodesk acquired ArcGIS and released AutoCAD Map 3D and AutoCAD Topo.
In 2010, Autodesk released AutoCAD Architecture. The functionality of AutoCAD Architect was to incorporate the use of parametric design for the creation of building models. The program was delivered as

What’s the significance of the first two words of the Latin version of the Lord’s Prayer?

I was going through the Lord’s Prayer for a refresher and I noticed that the first two words are “Domine” and “Deus”. I’m curious why this would be? In other versions of the Lord’s Prayer they would just say “Domine” and “Deus”. Why the addition of the word “Et” before “Domine”?

The words Domine and Deus actually mean something like “Master” and “God” in Latin. The Latin word “Et” is a conjunction that means “and”, like the word in English. It simply serves as a word to connect the second part of the sentence with the first. It also links the two parts of the Lord’s Prayer together, the “Domine” with the “Et”.
As a side note, “Et” is not normally used with the second part of the Lord’s Prayer in English either, but that’s a different question entirely.

At first glance, this is a Latin-American version.
In Spanish, the first two words of the prayer are :

Al Padre, al Hijo, al Espíritu Santo.

The first two words of the Vulgate in Latin are:

Deus, Domine.

In Latin, Deus is translated as “Father” and Domine as “Lord”.

I assume this is a Brazilian version of the prayer, as I see it was adopted in Brazil in 2007.
Even in the Portuguese version the words are Dom[ine] and Deus, but the “and” word, as the other answers say, is “e”, that is the conjunction “et” which in Portuguese is usually used after a clause and introduces the second part of the sentence with emphasis.
