An EZTRAC team in India has tracked down about 40 men in the US who are descendants of “black men who were convicted in US federal courts of taking part in the brutal 1927 massacre of ‘black people’ in Springfield, Illinois,” according to a recent USAToday article, “’Human Beings’ among descendants of ‘Bloody Sunday’ black men,” by Nicholas Guyatt.
The team has posted a list of men who are descendants of “black men who were convicted in US federal courts of taking part in the brutal 1927 massacre of ‘black people’ in Springfield, Illinois,” as part of a curious look at America’s history through the lens of family history.
Because the team is convinced that the victims (one of whom was a woman) “were murdered as part of a political rebellion,” it is not going to be merely restating the atrocities, but in addition, will be “dealing with the often surprising, often contradictory and often conflicting assumptions and stereotypes that are embedded within the history of American racism and its descendants.”
The team has already stumbled across hundreds of men, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the suspects, along with over 1,200 descendants of men convicted of non-murder-related charges during a state investigation, with a hefty helping of “many descendants of the killers’ mothers and wives.”
A major breakthrough has been uncovered, where the team has been able to connect families whose genealogical documents had been lost and not even recorded since the massacre had occurred in 1927.
Another success is that while the team was able to find and track down over 100 men whose genealogical records were maintained in the Central State Hospital (located in Springfield), there were another 7,000 men in the database whose records had not yet been discovered, and who are named as “remaining in searchable indexes of the death registry.”
This means that many names have been left out of the current search, because of the inaccessibility of the

Heredis is a powerful and flexible genealogy tool, which works by merging the external databases of many different genealogy applications in one.Glutamate-induced ionic currents in cultured neurons of the rat superior cervical ganglion: regulation by various excitatory amino acid receptor agonists.
The effects of various excitatory amino acid receptor agonists on the ionic currents induced by glutamate in cultured neurons of the rat superior cervical ganglion were examined by using the whole-cell patch-clamp technique. Extracellular application of glutamate (100 microM) induced a small inward current which was maximal at a holding potential of -50 mV. Application of kainate (10 microM) induced an outward current which is mainly mediated by a non-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. When added to the bath, N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) (10 microM) induced a larger inward current and a smaller outward current than kainate. These responses to NMDA were not observed when it was added to the intracellular solution. These findings suggest that NMDA-induced ionic currents have a weaker inhibitory effect on the glutamatergic synaptic transmission than kainate-induced ionic currents. In addition, application of quisqualate (10 microM) induced an inward current which was blocked by 2-amino-5-phosphonopentanoic acid (50 microM), suggesting that this current is mediated mainly by the alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionate (AMPA) receptor. High-potassium depolarization induced an outward current. This current was not affected by the application of any glutamate receptor agonist. The results indicate that cultured neurons of the rat superior cervical ganglion express two types of ionic current, mediated mainly by the kainate and NMDA receptors, respectively. Furthermore, the glutamatergic transmission, including excitatory and inhibitory postsynaptic responses, can be effectively modulated by AMPA receptor activation. 0.02 ± 0.00 0.03 ± 0.00 0.02 ± 0.00 0.03 ± 0.00 0.03 ± 0.00

How to Add a Member in Heredis
In order to start adding a new member, click on the New Member icon. You will be asked to specify several details:
a) First, you need to name your new member. You can name them as you wish, and the names can be up to 50 characters long.
b) Next, you can enter the date of birth and death for your new member. Note that the birth date must be before the death date. You may enter one date or you may specify two, with at least the month and day. For instance, 00/01/00 and 00/02/00 are both valid dates for entering a birth, while 1/11/95 and 9/10/2002 are valid birth and death dates, respectively.
c) You can also specify the information about your family members’ place of birth. For that purpose, you can enter the country code and the city, county, or province.
d) When you click on the Browse button, you will see all the records that can be used to populate the view you are building. You can choose from several types of records including:
In-laws and spouses.
Spouses and in-laws.
You can use all of these entries in any combination. For instance, if you have a first name and a surname, you can select that person based on their father’s name, mother’s name, married name, and maiden name. Similarly, if you enter the name of a person’s first spouse or first in-law, you can use their surname, maiden name, married name, and first name to add the two records.
Select the records you want to add
Next, select the records you want to add, using the icons above the Records box. You can choose the sources from any of the five categories, or even combine two categories.
For instance, you can choose the Marriage records and the Death records, but not the In-laws category, which is limited to the In-laws and Spouses entries.
Finally, click on the Save button, then pick a location to save the GEDCOM file.
How to Share Records with Another Member
Now that you have created a new member, you can share one or more of their sources with another person. To do that
