Checking firebase database version before sending it to server

I am currently developing an Android application which stores data into firebase database using FirebaseRecyclerAdapter.
However, I would like to check the version of the database from the user’s phone.
When the user update the application, the database has to be updated with the changes to prevent the crash. Therefore, I tried to get the version by parsing the user’s device logs, but unfortunately, the data seems to have changed since the data was uploaded on the server.
I do not know how to check the database version before uploading the data to the server, because I do not know the exact path of the server’s database.
Is there any way to check and get the database version before uploading the data to the server or any other solution for solving this problem?
I am storing the database version inside the firebase database like so:

The version of your database is a combination of a major and a minor version, i.e. something like 4.x.y. You can check this by using the getVersion() method as you have already done.

Plasma levels of thiopurine metabolites were positively associated with age, white cell count, treatment duration and use of corticosteroids, and were inversely associated with the duration of active treatment and use of methotrexate. Both 6MGR and IMP metabolite levels were independently associated with the duration of active treatment, after adjustment for age, white cell count and use of corticosteroids. Other significant associations were limited to lower levels of 6MGR metabolite and thiopurine treatment duration or corticosteroids.
