Photoshop’s vector tools enable you to create paths in real time and manipulate them as easily as you edit pixels.
* **Graphics:** This format allows you to combine multiple images into a single composite. Some people call these graphic elements _layers_ and Photoshop calls them _layers._ Photoshop also supports drawing tools that automatically track movements as you draw, giving the appearance of a freehand drawing. (See Book III, Chapter 5 for more on working with layers and transparency.)
* **Smart Objects:** You can take an image and make it look as if it was created on a specific type of device. Smart objects, like layers, are updated every time you change the image. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your needs.

In the former case the PDF should close. In the latter case the PDF should be “pinned” and the program will open a new instance.
