Apophenic art Apophenic art is a name given to a particular style of illustrations based on custom made patterns. From my own experience, the only real way to be satisfied with any form of artistic expression is to have it as a continuous flow, with a continuous change, changing each time you are looking at it. This is the reason why the human eyes move very regularly, in order to ensure that we can see each pattern as long as possible and enjoy the experience of watching it change. It is for this reason that I chose to create a screensaver animation based on this principle, that I call apophenic. In order to create this screensaver animation, I have combined two branches of art: – the branch of digital art, i.e. the field of art and design related to computers and other digital technologies, where all programs, algorithms and forms of expression are created by computers; – the branch of traditional art, as traditional art can be done without any computer, but mostly involves drawing, painting and other forms of expression using direct or indirect tools like brushes, pen, pencil etc. With this two branches combined, a new apophenic art can be conceived.
