I have an ASP.NET MVC application which uses a one page layout. This one page layout contains a button which when clicked takes you to a View called ‘Page1’ which has several views. On one of these views, a user selects some settings and clicks the ‘Add Record’ button which calls the Add record functionality and saves the data.
After the data is saved I need to redirect back to the main page and pass back the GUID of the new record so that I can then use that to update the record within the UI.
I originally thought that I would use the following:
