A Sipek Softphone Server is an active service providing users with service via the Internet. The SipekSoftphone client software is not a server. It simply acts as a simple client which downloads the necessary information from the server and manages the call connections.
In a Sipek Softphone, the same servers which provide the SipekSoftphone with contact information, user presence and some other status information, are also used for other purposes.
